Conferences and Workshops

The IRE network organises and promotes various events on different aspects of regional innovation. The IRE Secretariat organises several kinds of events.

IRE Plenary Conferences
The IRE Plenary Conferences constitute the main meeting point of the iRE network. Organised every second year, the Plenary Conferences bring together regional representatives and stakeholders from all IRE member regions to take part of the latest developments regarding regional innovation policy and network with the European Commission and each other.

IRE good practice workshops
Good practiceworkshops, open to IRE members and other actors involved in regional innovation, are organised twice every year to present and discuss experiences in specific areas related to regional innovation policies. Past events have focused on, for instance, effective regional innovation systems, regional clusters as innovation drivers, the development of a regional innovation culture, and innovative business incubators.

Working group meetings
The IRE Secretariat manages working meetings for groups of regions working on specific issues. For example, meetings are regularly organised for the coordinators of the current regional innovation policy impact assessment and benchmarking projects.

On-going Regional Innovation Strategy projects
The IRE Secretariat also organises specific events to accompany on-going Regional Innovation Strategy projects.

Further information about upcoming events is available in the Calendar of events.
